Portable outline test

I just opened an existing opml file I have on my world outline server to the shownotes of my most recent podcast episode

I copied the outline and pasted it into my Fargo Blog

Wow, almost instant perfection. I had to remove a few attributes, such as 'tabs' which isn't supported [yet?] and add the enclosure as well as make the pasted outline a feedItem

Pretty darn spiffy! Complete interop between systems!

[update]

  • I don't see the enclosure element in my feed, maybe that takes a couple minutes, and I certainly won't be posting full episode shownotes in my feed as that will make my feed unbearably big very quickly. Each episodes notes are about 1MB in size. Heh.

  • Probably better to keep them as single outlines and use the inclusion attribute

  • Further examination shows parts are not rendering properly, most likely because the shownotes are filled with all kinds of impossible characters and well, crap Stuff to investigate for sure.
