 I come from a family of 'service' personnel, I therefore take Memorial Day very seriously, as a day that commemorates the men and women who died while in the military service.  I still own my forefather's civil war sword, as well as other momentos of my family's service protecting this great experiment known as the United States of America.

Eisenhower on January 17th 1961, this patriotic service has been manipulated into a mechanism for private gain, with total disregard for human life and sacrifice. I retch when I see our chosen and elected representatives spew their hypocritical rhetoric at wreath laying ceremonies and commemorative services on this day.
