Almost 6 weeks later than the legal deadline required for non-profit organizations, the Clinton Foundation finally released its IRS for 990 documents to the public yesterday.
My initilal interest is in understanding where the billions of raised funds intended for Haitian Earthquake relief went has turned an interesting corner.
Part II of Schedule G requires separate reporting of a balance sheet on any fundraising events over $5000 if the total for fundraising events in the year exceeded $15000.
The foudations entries list the 'Millennium' and 'Gala' events, it is unclear if these are singular events or an accumulaton of Clinton based events with the words 'Gala' and 'Millenium' in their title. Regardless, I have yet to see a Clinton bash that doesn't include the expected line-up of Hollywood A-Listers and other Elites. I'm looking at you Bono.
The bottom line, literally; in 2010, after expenses such as 'cash prizes, food & beverage and "Entertainment" the former President raised a negative $311,135.
What's the point of having fundraisers if you lose money on the event?
Fuck AIDS, Haiti and Africa.... We're here to paartaaaayyy!!!
There is an entry in the schedule G for 'charitable contributions', but nowhere can one find what that means. Nor is this information available in the annual report and audited financials as approved by the foundation's accounting firm.
For an organization that has annual revenues of $135 million, these 'charitable donations' could easily be free valet parking.
Fascinating new open source Peer2Peer Search project at YaCy.net
I'm running a peer now on a Rackspace hosted Windows2003 Server.
Speed isnt't great, but that just may be the java running under windows while it's indexing my WorldOutline. Lots to tweak and fiddle around with.
You can try it out here
All of this is running on my own personal server, but communicates with the search network. Cool!
With the recent release of the community river feature in the OPML Editor River of News application, it is now possible to add an rss feed (or Atom) to the No Agenda News Network.
Not only can you now subscibe the community to a feed you like, but you can also use it to contribute directly to the network by adding your own feed that you create with WordPress, Blogger or any other number of freely available systems.
I use the free Radio2 system, that creates feeds as a desktop or server application and utilizes Amazon's S3 for bullet-proof hosting.
I've had this operating in stealth mode for a few days and am happy with the results, so now it's time to open up the dors and see what happens.
The server utilizes real-time rss, so any system that understands this (wordpress does) will update a changed feed almost instantaneously.

I am a self admitted conspiracy theorist. It was therefore extra pleasant for me to interview Jonathan Kay, who debunks theories and marginalizes fellow CT's like myself. He wrote his book with the disclosure that he is a Fellow at the Foundation For Defense of Democracies, an anti jihadist think tank in Washington DC. This shows his clear agenda.
I did not enter into much debate with Jonathan by design, as I found it much more interesting to allow him to express his views unchallenged, to illustrate just how confused people like Jonathan really are about how the world works.
That said, this book is definitely worth the read, if only to learn what CT's are up against in unveiling the world's to truths easily dismissed as 'conspiracy theories'.

I use a custom bookmarklet to quickly post links I want to share with the No Agenda community, or to my feed that flows into twitter.
Unfortunately Android does not support javascript bookmarklets on their browser, which is on the mobile device I like to use most.
This has always hampered my mobile usage, as posting a link would comprise several steps of copy/pasting into my posting interface.
Yesterday I discovered a great free Android app that not only comes with a slew of pre-programmed bookmarklets for exsitiing services, but also allows you to create your own.
Here's how you set it up for a Blork system:
Download and install the app
Select 'Custom Services' from the top of the menu
Create a new service and enter the information as displayed in this screenshot. Please replace the 'radio2.curry.com' part of the 'Base URL' with the domain name that your server is on.
Now whenever you want to share a link to a page you're browing, just select 'Share Page' from the 'More' menu in the Android browser and select the Custom Services' option.
In my case, the Blork popup window opens with the shortened url pre-populated as well as the title of the page in the 'Description' box.
Hooking into the 'share' function of the browser on android can be developed into a custom app, if there are any Android devs out there using Android, here's what I presume is good documentation.

There are close to one hundred million single adults living in the United States. Of those, approximately thirty-five million will look at online dating sites this year alone. Internet Dates from Hell provides the ins and outs of Internet dating from one woman's experiences, ranging from funny to scary to downright shocking. Internet Dates from Hell is not only a guide; it is also a seven-year journey through author Trisha Ventker's dating life as a single kindergarten teacher who relocated from the suburbs to New York City to find her soul mate.
Trishia joins us via skype from her home in Colorado to talk about the book, the dates from hell and shares a few tips for those looking to succeed in online dating.

Dave writes that "stories can have source code".
I really like the concept, and I'm trying to wrap my head around use of other people's writing source code. Since all my web workflow is based on opml tools, I'm now spending time experimenting with this new type of source code, which is actually quite rich in it's attributes (node types is one I'm seeing)
Here's a link to the source code of this blog post. Open it in any text editor to see all the goodies. Some are hidden :-)
Did you find it?
